Luellen was born on July 28, 1941 in Rock Hill, the third daughter of the late Clarence and Carolyn Neely Senn.  She was raised on the family farm, Snow White Dairy, in the Newport community and was graduated from York High School in 1959.  She received her BS degree in Education from Winthrop College in 1963 and her Master’s in Education from East Carolina University in 1981. In 1968, Luellen married Richard A. Guyer (MSGT USMC ret.) of Wilmington, DE, who precedes her in death.  Luellen taught in the primary grades in Manassas, VA, York County, and Craven County, NC for over 25 years until she retired in 2000 and returned to build her home on the family farm in Newport.  She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, the Ebenezer Memorial Association, the Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, the Colonial Dames XVII 17th Century, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.  Luellen enjoyed her local community and was proud of her family history and southern heritage.   Luellen loved to teach children, and she often said she especially treasured seeing the spark go off when they first learned to read.  She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her gracious and warm hospitality, her cheerful disposition, her love of cats, her cherished potato salad recipe, and for her devotion to her alma mater, Winthrop.  Luellen often said “With a Winthrop education, you can do anything.”

She is survived by her siblings, Peggy Senn Palmer of Rock Hill; Lyn Senn Skews (Ken) of Rock Hill; C. W. Senn, Jr. (Chris) of York; and Eddie Senn of Washington, DC.  And by her nieces and nephews:  Mary Carolyn Palmer Quarles (Al) of Rock Hill; Audrey Skews Culp of Rock Hill; Suzanne Senn Skews (Kim Aiken) of Townville; Virginia Lee Palmer of Rock Hill; Thomas Skews (Lynda Lewis) of Rock Hill; Shannon Senn (Michael McMullen) of York; and Jonathan Senn (Stacey) of Nashville.  In addition, she is survived by nine great nieces and nephews and two great, great nieces.  She was predeceased by her nephew, F.
